Get Ready for Summer with Tips from a Designer Swimwear and Beachwear Expert

Interview with a Designer Swimwear and Beachwear Expert

Summer is just around the corner, which means it’s time to start thinking about your swimwear and beachwear wardrobe. To help you get ready for the season, we spoke with an expert in the field – Sarah Jones, a designer swimwear and beachwear specialist who has been creating stunning pieces for over 15 years.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started in the fashion industry?

A: Sure! I’ve always had a love for fashion, but it wasn’t until after university that I decided to pursue it as a career. I went on to study fashion design at Parsons School of Design in New York City before starting my own swimwear and beachwear line.

Q: What inspired you to focus your designs on swimwear and beachwear?

A: Growing up near the ocean played a huge role in inspiring me to create swimwear. I’ve always loved spending time at the beach or pool, so designing swimsuits felt like a natural fit. Plus, there’s something really special about creating pieces that make people feel confident and beautiful when they’re out enjoying themselves in nature.

Q: What are some of the biggest trends we can expect to see this year in terms of colors, patterns, and styles?

A: This year we’re seeing lots of bright colors like neon green or hot pink making a comeback. Animal prints are also still very much on-trend – everything from leopard print to zebra stripes. As far as styles go, high-waisted bottoms continue to be popular because they’re flattering on many body types. And one-piece swimsuits are back in style too!

Q: Speaking of body types, what advice do you have for women who might be feeling self-conscious about their bodies when shopping for swimwear?

A: First off, know that everyone has insecurities about their bodies – even models and celebrities! The key is to find a suit that makes you feel confident and comfortable. There are so many different styles out there, from high-waisted bottoms to one-pieces with tummy control panels, so don’t be afraid to try on lots of different options until you find the right fit for you.

Q: What do you think sets designer swimwear apart from more affordable options?

A: Designer swimwear tends to use higher-quality fabrics and materials, which means they’ll last longer than cheaper swimsuits. Plus, designers often put a lot of thought into the construction of their pieces – things like adjustable straps or underwire can make all the difference in terms of comfort and support. And of course, designer swimsuits tend to have more unique designs that aren’t as likely to be seen on everyone else at the beach or pool.

Q: What’s your advice for caring for your swimwear so it lasts as long as possible?

A: Rinse your swimsuit out with cold water after each wear – this helps get rid of any chlorine or saltwater that might damage the fabric over time. Avoid wringing out your suit too hard when drying it; instead, gently press out any excess water before laying it flat to dry in a shaded area. And never put your swimsuit in the dryer!

Q: Finally, what’s one piece of advice you have for women looking to upgrade their swimwear wardrobe this summer?

A: Don’t be afraid to try something new! Whether it’s a bold color or an unusual print, stepping outside of your comfort zone can lead to some really fun fashion moments. And remember – confidence is always in style.

Thanks so much for speaking with us today, Sarah! It was great getting insight into what we can expect from swimwear trends this season and learning about how we can care for our suits properly. We’ll definitely keep these tips in mind while shopping for our summer beachwear wardrobe!
