Kim Kardashian West is a household name. Whether you love or hate her, there’s no denying that she has made an indelible mark on pop culture. From reality TV star to business mogul, Mrs. Kardashian West has conquered just about every industry out there.

One of Kim’s most notable ventures is in fashion and beauty. She has her own line of shapewear, KKW Beauty makeup products, and even a fragrance collection. But one area where Kim seems to struggle is in swimwear.

Despite being married to rapper Kanye West and living a life of luxury, Kim rarely makes appearances at the beach or poolside. In fact, it seems like we see more photos of Kim in fur coats than bathing suits.

This isn’t to say that Kim doesn’t have a history with swimwear. Back in 2016, she launched a line of swimsuits through her website called “Kim’s Bikinis.” The collection featured high-cut one-pieces and bikinis with cheeky bottoms – all styles that have become popular in recent years thanks to the resurgence of ’90s fashion trends.

But despite having her own swimwear line, Kim rarely puts herself on display in said swimwear. In an interview with Vogue Arabia last year, she admitted that she hates going to the beach because “it’s actually really hard work getting me into a tiny bikini.”

It’s interesting that someone who spends so much time perfecting their image through makeup and body contouring would shy away from showing off their figure at the beach or poolside. Perhaps there’s something about swimwear specifically that makes even someone as confident as Kim feel vulnerable.

Or maybe it comes down to practicality – after all, it can be hard for anyone to feel comfortable lounging around half-naked with paparazzi cameras constantly snapping away.

Whatever the reason may be for Kim’s aversion to swimwear, one thing is for sure – it hasn’t stopped her from profiting off of the trend. In addition to her own swimwear line, she has collaborated with brands like Carolina Lemke and Fendi on limited-edition sunglasses collections.

And while we may not see Kim in a bathing suit very often, that doesn’t mean she isn’t still influencing the styles that are popular at the beach and by the pool. Her love of high-cut bottoms and cheeky coverage has been emulated by countless other celebrities and regular people alike.

So even if Kim Kardashian West never sets foot on an actual beach again, her impact on swimwear will be felt for years to come.
