Say Goodbye to Lotion and Oil Stains on Your Swimwear!

It’s summertime, and that means spending countless hours outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Whether you’re lounging by the pool or taking a dip in the ocean, chances are you’re going to come into contact with lotion or oil at some point. And while these products may be great for your skin, they can wreak havoc on your favorite swimwear if not properly removed.

So how do you remove lotion and oil stains from your swimwear? The first thing to keep in mind is that time is of the essence. The longer you wait to treat the stain, the harder it will be to remove. As soon as possible after getting a stain, rinse it in cold water and try to gently rub out any excess product.

Next, it’s important to choose the right cleaning method based on what type of fabric your swimsuit is made of. For example, if your suit contains spandex or Lycra, avoid using hot water or harsh detergents as this can damage these materials over time. Instead, opt for a mild soap or detergent specifically formulated for delicates.

If you have a white swimsuit that has been stained with lotion or oil, try soaking it in a mixture of warm water and white vinegar before washing normally. This solution can help break down stubborn stains without damaging delicate fabrics.

For colored swimsuits with lotion or oil stains that won’t budge through normal washing methods – like rubbing alcohol mixed with baking soda can work wonders! Apply this mixture directly onto the stain and let sit for about 10 minutes before washing normally.

Of course prevention is always better than cure so one way to avoid having tough-to-remove lotion/oil stains on your swimsuits would be limiting their use when applying sunscreen/lotion/oil products but if necessary make sure you apply such products at home prior leaving for swimming.

In conclusion: With proper care techniques and quick treatment following an unfortunate spillage incident all hope isn’t lost for your favorite swimsuit. By using the right cleaning methods and supplies tailored to different types of fabrics, you can keep your swimwear looking good as new all summer long!
