Interview with Blake Lively: Her Style, Beach Essentials and Love for Swimwear

Blake Lively is a Hollywood actress known for her roles in popular TV shows like Gossip Girl and movies like The Shallows. Apart from her acting career, she has also become an influential fashion icon over the years. Her sense of style is admired by many, whether it’s on the red carpet or during her downtime at the beach.

We caught up with Blake to talk about all things swimwear and beach essentials. Here are some highlights from our conversation:

Q: You always look so effortlessly chic when you’re at the beach. What are your go-to pieces for a day out by the ocean?

BLAKE: Thank you! I think comfort is key when it comes to beachwear. I usually opt for flowy dresses or kaftans that can easily be thrown on over my swimsuit. Sun hats are also a must-have accessory to protect my face from UV rays.

Q: And what about your favorite swimwear styles? Do you have any particular favorites?

BLAKE: I love one-piece swimsuits because they’re both flattering and practical. They provide enough coverage so that I don’t have to worry about anything slipping out, but they still make me feel feminine and stylish. Bikinis are great too, especially if you’re looking to get more sun exposure!

Q: How do you choose what swimwear to wear? Is there a process that goes into selecting each piece?

BLAKE: Definitely! It all depends on where I’m going and what activities I’ll be doing while at the beach. For example, if I know I’ll be taking part in some water sports or playing volleyball, then I’ll go for something more secure like a one-piece suit with thick straps or a high-waisted bikini bottom.

If it’s just lounging around in the sun though, then something more playful with cute prints or bright colors is always fun. I also love mixing and matching different pieces to create my own unique look.

Q: You’ve been spotted wearing a lot of vintage-inspired swimwear lately. What draws you to that particular style?

BLAKE: I think vintage styles are timeless and have a certain charm about them. They’re also very feminine, which is something I appreciate in fashion. Vintage swimsuits often have more coverage too, so they’re great if you want to feel confident but still stylish.

Q: When it comes to beach beauty, what are some of your must-haves? Do you have any secret tips for looking flawless in the sun?

BLAKE: Sunscreen is obviously essential! I use one with an SPF of at least 50 and reapply every few hours to make sure my skin stays protected. A good lip balm with SPF is important too because our lips can easily get burned as well.

In terms of makeup, less is definitely more when it comes to the beach. But I do like to wear a little bit of waterproof mascara just to open up my eyes a bit. And lastly, hydration is key! Drinking lots of water before and during your time in the sun will help keep your skin looking plump and healthy.

Q: Switching gears here – let’s talk about your personal style outside of the beach scene. How would you describe it?

BLAKE: Hmm, that’s always a tough question! I think my style has evolved over time but overall, I like classic pieces that will never go out of style mixed with some trendy items here and there.

I also love experimenting with different prints and patterns – it’s such an easy way to add some personality into your outfit without going too overboard. And I’m not afraid of color either!

Q: Who are some designers or brands that you’re currently loving?

BLAKE: There are so many amazing designers out there, it’s hard to choose just a few! For swimwear specifically, I love Solid & Striped – their pieces are always so chic and well-made. Zimmermann is another brand that I adore for their feminine prints and silhouettes.

Outside of swimwear, I’m a big fan of Ralph Lauren because they do classic American style so well. And lately, I’ve been loving Brock Collection for their romantic dresses and blouses.

Q: Lastly, let’s talk about your upcoming projects. Anything exciting in the works?

BLAKE: Yes! I actually have a new movie coming out called The Husband’s Secret which is based on the novel by Liane Moriarty. It’s a really interesting story with some great twists and turns – I can’t wait for people to see it!
